Today, VIKING produces and sells lawn mowers, lawn tractors, garden shredders and tillers. The consistent development of high-quality products and good marketing techniques in collaboration with the STIHL group make VIKING a leading company in the gardening tools sector.
VIKING has an excellent reputation as an innovative and service oriented supplier – at dealers, customers in whole Europe and in objective tests of media. The deciding component is the reliable VIKING Premium Strategy: quality in all areas. In products and in service as well as in research, development, production and sales.

Expansion continues - construction phase II of the VIKING home office is complete. On September 20, 2007, part of the workforce relocated to the new building. The total effective area was extended from approximately 7,000 m² to 20,000 m² effective area, and the total area was increased to 63,000 m².
52 additional rooms/facilities (which include for example sound measure facilities and testing facilities in the latest technical standards), provide new jobs for approx. 60 further employees.
With the expanded Competence Centre we have created the conditions that will let us manoeuvre in the market even better in the future.

VIKING can look back on a track record of 25 years of age. What began in 1981 with the first garden shredder has gradually developed to a complete product range for the demanding gardener.

In September 2001, only 4 km from the old company location, the new VIKING Competence Centre for Gardening Tools was opened, to be able to accomodate the company's rapid growth. The building is a state-of-the-art facility housing production, marketing and sales and administraion. |

Dr. Nikolas Stihl, the grandson of the STIHL company founder, became Managing Director of VIKING in 1993. |

In 1992, following incorporation into the STIHL group (the global market leader for chain saws), the company expanded and grew its gardening tool range. |

Three years after the inception of the company (1984), VIKING began the development of their own line of lawn mowers. |

VIKING was founded in 1981 in Kufstein, located in the province of Tyrol in Austria and was able to continuously expand production of its garden shredders under Heinrich Lechner, Managing Director. |
