2004 good performance for VIKING despite difficult conditions
VIKING expects strong year in 2005

Langkampfen/Kufstein, 20th April 2005. In 2004, VIKING GmbH achieved good annual results, despite the fact that turnover did not reach previous years' record levels owing to unfavourable conditions for the entire sector.

The Tyrol-based company, however was able to successfully assert itself, the brand's position and image have been sustainably improved. Growth in turnover during the past ten years has been substantial. In 1994, turnover amounted to some 19m euros, in 1999 it had already risen to 52.7m euros and to 73.7m euros in 2004. Personnel numbers remained stable in 2004 compared to 2003 at 152. Equity capital was increased to € 28.9 in 2004, which corresponds to approximately 62 % of the balance sheet total.


Geschäftsführer Dr. Nikolas Stihl:
Since 1993, Dr. Nikolas Stihl has been Managing Director of VIKING, the garden tool manufacturer founded in 1981 in Kufstein. The company, whose products are sold in approx. 60 countries world-wide, currently has an export share of almost 98 per cent.
