Tyrolean region needs flexible workforce
Leased "Maschinenring" workforce at VIKING
The manufacture of products such as lawn mowers and garden shredders at VIKING is subject to strong seasonal fluctuation. This has given rise to a very close partnership between the garden tool manufacturer based in Langkampfen/Kufstein and the Tyrolean agricultural co-operative, "Maschinenring Tyrol". Up to 60 % of the tools produced leave the VIKING plant in the period from January to April. The strongest demand for garden tools is in the springtime, despite differences between the various markets. Until 1999, VIKING predominantly endeavoured to cover these peak periods using their permanent employees; the collaboration came into being in 1999. Whereas approx. 10 temporary workers were employed initially during the seasonal peak, this number has now grown to 56. more... |
