VIKING innovations 2009: convincing and sustainable brilliant technology, advanced ergonomics and excellent design.

VIKING product novelties are designed to make gardening easier. Amateur gardeners can undertake all types of demanding work with the confidence of professionals. Real professionals, of course, also appreciate the reduction in effort achieved through low vibration and well thought-out operation.

So novelties range from robust lawn mowers and revitalising lawn scarifiers, to powerful and extraordinarily versatile garden shredders.

The new 4 Series lawn mower MB 443 X is a compact powerhouse in proven brand quality. The appliance impresses with reliability, output and excellent price-performance ratio.

MB 443 X

The VIKING 6 Series lawn mowers range was enlarged by the premium models MB 650 VR and MB 655 VR. The secret is that it features a rear roller on its rear axle instead of two running wheels, allowing you to bring a striped design to your own garden. It is hard to think of a lawn finish that arouses more enthusiasm among amateur gardeners.

MB 650 VR MB 655 VR

Built by professionals, for professionals: The new VIKING MB 750 KS lawn mower impresses with numerous technical and ergonomic advantages. With its powerful engine performance, robust construction and convenient operation, it is suitable for prolonged use on a daily basis.

MB 750 KS

The new VIKING lawn scarifiers LE 540 with electric motor and LB 540 with petrol engine, free your lawn of moss and weeds and at the same time aerates the soil. Seven fixed double blades with 14 sharp cutting edges remove moss and weeds from the lawn. This aerates and loosens the soil, making it easier for nutrients to reach the grass roots.

LE 540 LB 540

The multi-functional garden shredders GE 355 and GE 375 are powerful and extraordinarily versatile. They can deal equally well with both soft material and branch cuttings. The BRS (Blade-rotation Reverse System) reversal technology developed by VIKING makes this possible. When the gardener turns the preselector switch to the green flower symbol, the shredder can process soft garden material. If the gardener selects the symbol with the stylised branch, he can shred branch cuttings.

GE 355 GE 375

Also in future VIKING stands for a powerful and innovative programme - high quality and ecological compatibility for discerning gardeners and professionals!

Tyrolean region needs flexible workforce

Leased "Maschinenring" workforce at VIKING

The manufacture of products such as lawn mowers and garden shredders at VIKING is subject to strong seasonal fluctuation. This has given rise to a very close partnership between the garden tool manufacturer based in Langkampfen/Kufstein and the Tyrolean agricultural co-operative, "Maschinenring Tyrol". Up to 60 % of the tools produced leave the VIKING plant in the period from January to April. The strongest demand for garden tools is in the springtime, despite differences between the various markets. Until 1999, VIKING predominantly endeavoured to cover these peak periods using their permanent employees; the collaboration came into being in 1999. Whereas approx. 10 temporary workers were employed initially during the seasonal peak, this number has now grown to 56. more...
