Two Outstanding Employer Awards for VIKING

For the second time in quick succession, gardening power tool manufacturer VIKING from Langkampfen is celebrating an award for being an outstanding employer. On 14 November 2017, VIKING came top in Austria in the Industry category in the Best Recruiters Study 2017/18. This prestigious study, the largest German-language one of its kind, is conducted annually and looks at the interaction with applicants, the career websites and the online job ads of companies from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Sophia Plattner, Head of Human Resource Management at VIKING, is pleased: "The award means a lot to us, also because it was our first time to be included. It confirms that we are on the right track with our recruitment strategy. Our aim is that each of our applicants – irrespective of the outcome of the application – has a positive memory of VIKING."

On 30 October 2017, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Industry named VIKING a "Nationally Recognised Training Enterprise". Companies that have made a contribution to Austrian industry through outstanding achievements in the training of apprentices and in apprenticeships are entitled to use the Coat of Arms of Austria and the prestigious award. VIKING Authorised Representative and Production Manager Josef Koller accepted this mark of quality from Minister for Economic Affairs Harald Mahrer at a ceremony in Vienna, an achievement shared by only three other Tyrolean companies this year. The evaluation criteria underline the quality of education and training: extracurricular apprenticeship training, social commitment, performance in final examinations and apprentice competitions as well as external teaching collaborations. VIKING scored well here.

VIKING GmbH produces and sells lawn mowers, robotic mowers, ride-on mowers, scarifiers, garden shredders and tillers. VIKING is a member of the STIHL Group and assembles most of the battery-powered range for the entire STIHL Group at its site in Tyrol. In 2016, VIKING achieved a turnover of EUR 266.9 million with 414 employees. Distribution is carried out exclusively via specialist service-providing dealers.
